Sam Tarly was the MVP of ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode 1 and here’s why

Samwell Tarly never changes.

Jon Snow's oldest and closest friend of Night Watch is officially our MVP for the first of Game of Thrones Season 8 . The disappointment of Cersei extremely relatable to not have her elephants made her a powerful challenger, but a good MVP should change the game.

Sam changed the game without a doubt .

He did it in such a situation. endearing Sam-like way, too. The boy had every reason to rage against Jon in the following minutes after learning – from his mate's lover, nothing more – that Randyll and Dickon Tarly, his father and brother, respectively, had refused their new queen and had met unwelcome ends. 19659002] (Fortunately Dany did not go into how the Tarlys died.)

Instead of trampling Jon and simply erasing "You've deeded your aunt, bruh", Sam played it's cool. Sweet, even. Bran explained why it was necessary that it was Sam who announces the news to Jon that he is the only king of the Seven Kingdoms and that Sam, taken of sorrow and as furious as we have never seen it, takes the thing lightly. [19659002] The scene where he announces the news could have been very very differently, of course. There is a reason that Sam announced that Dany had killed the Tarly Boys. He watched Jon's face, Jon's reaction. He wanted to know if his former friend was aware of what had happened.

Without a doubt, Sam changed the game.

He was almost certainly ready to strangle Jon where he stood even though he had a little idea that he knew. You can see it right there in the way his face hardens while he spells out everything. Sam is not the coward at the weak will that he was. Jon has a lot to do with that, but that would not stop Sam from picking on his friend.

Fortunately for all of us, the friendship of Jon and Sam is one of the few on Game of Thrones that remains pure and unsullied by personal betrayals. Sam immediately understood that in Jon's answer and took it as an invitation to throw the biggest bomb of all: Jon's real biological father was Rhaegar Targaryen, which means that Jon was actually Aegon Targaryen, the heir legitimate throne of iron.

Sam was a small little petty child in childbirth. He framed the entire conversation in a definitively anti-Dany light. But let's not forget that she murdered Sam's father and brother with a dragon fire. Even though Sam does not know the fire of the dragon, the murder gives him the right to a hard-won pettiness.

What this revelation means for Jon, Dany, their relationship and, in fact, the future of Westeros is quite pointless. But with a few soft-spoken words, Sam directly changed the course of the current story in Game of Thrones . In one scene, he has scheduled the remaining five episodes on a particular course, which should be fully paid only after the credits of the final chapter.
